In honor of Black-Owned Business Month, I compiled a list of some of my favorite Black-owned businesses in the fashion industry! Below you’ll find links to clothing boutiques, designers, jewelry, shoes, handbags, and lingerie with a range of price points! I am so excited to highlight these businesses, makers, and curators this month, and hopefully introduce you to your next favorite brand.
Grant Blvd
Fashion combined with activism and sustainability. All of the clothing made by Grant Blvd is created using deadstock fabrics or repurposed thrifted pieces.
The Sable Collective
The Sable Collective sources pieces exclusively by BIPOC and women artisans and entrepreneurs.
Christopher John Rogers
The COLORS! There is so much vibrancy and joy in Christopher John Rogers’ designs and color choices. It’s easy to see why celebrities like Tracee Ellis Ross and Zendaya, along with former first lady Michelle Obama, AOC, and Kamala Harris have all worn his designs.
House of Harlow 1960
Nicole Richie’s brand provides looks inspired by California in the 60’s and 70’s with a modern luxurious vibe.
Brother Vellies
The collection of nudes in these beautifully crafted shoes is everything we have wanted from designers like Jimmy Choo but never received. Right now, Brother Vellies has 8 different shades of “nude” in their Nudes collection, and they plan to add a new style of shoe to this collection every season.
Brandon Blackwood
A fun assortment of classic and trendy styles of handbags
Savage X Fenty
Sexy, affordable, and inclusive lingerie = LOVE!
